The words in the picture above are valid. Today we don’t understand how to really solve all our climate issues, even though they are actually, relatively easy to achieve but only if we understand that actual issues.
What we Face is called an “Out of Context Problem”
How do you define an
“Out of Context” ….
……problem. It is a situation where a statement, quote, or event which is outside what we are exposed to through normal ways of living. It can be seen as a curve ball that is thrown at us. We see it coming but we don’t know how to deal with it.
At Commonground ReWilding we use the idea of “Out of Context” problems to look at why we are not solving the climate problems but also use it to define how we go about creating solutions to the problem. Al Gore recently said “Solving the climate crisis is within our grasp, but we need people like you to stand up and act”. This is an out of context probelem we are faced with. We don’t make changes or act because the problem is outside our normal thinking processes.
So what is “Out of Context” Green Sustainable Activism & how do we covert it in to a in-context issue.
Good question, well we think it is. Green Sustainable Activism in it simplest format is a community/social concept. Each of us have to have input in to what it means to that community. Every community will have there own way of doing it and applying it.
As communities start to engage in creating green sustainable ways of living, everyone in the social group become as one. The current green Out of Context problem will have less and less effect as people start to make changes as they learn and practically get involved and the movement grows. In the end what would happen is that the old problematic industrial way of living would become an out of context problem if it decided to try and make a come back.
Here’s a question you can ask yourselves about where you and the world you see around you is in terms of combating our Worlds Issues.
“Is there any place or centre around where you live, where you can go to find out about the real changes that are needed, where do you go for support, create friends to do it with that will make it fun by doing it together.”
It does not exist, and we cant do it on our own. There is no platform where you can go to have a chat, get involved. Commomground ReWilding and its cafe is about changing that.
