“the Medium is the Message
Welcome to “Zugunruhe”. It is a term that relates to the idea of migratory restlessness. It originates from a German word that basically means “Moving Unrest”. Commonground has taken the word as the name for our creative collective as we feel that it defines how we all feel about solving the way we live and climate issues. Moving unrest seems an apt way to put it.
The term also describes the restless, twitching urge migratory birds feel when caged — and the same primal restlessness humans feel when trapped. This urge is a trigger that seasonal migration in birds confined to laboratory cages and in those species that feel an urge to move south every winter.
We all feel at Commonground a discomfort around the inability to make a difference, this isn’t a personal flaw but a strong signal that in our environments — whether its our climate issues or about our catastrophic Biodiversity declines ……
…… are fundamentally affecting our lives and that we have this feel that something really needs to change. We feel impotent about how we can make these changes much like a restless bird in a gilded cage.
This is why this business is called “Zugunruhe”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
